GOOD TO KNOW

Rechargeable Vibe Questions, Answered

What people ask about rechargeable vibrators and sex toys.

Why choose a USB rechargeable vibrator?

USB rechargeable vibrators offer reliable power, stronger motors and no disposable batteries to replace. Simply recharge your toy with the supplied USB cable and enjoy session after session without worrying about running out of batteries. Many rechargeable vibrators are also waterproof, quieter and packed with advanced vibration patterns.

Rechargeable vs battery-powered vibrators: Which is better?

Rechargeable vibrators:

  • Generally more expensive, but you get better quality for your money.
  • Better motor, more powerful vibrations.
  • Charge up on the go/ Most rechargeable vibrators have USB cables.

Battery-operated vibrators:

  • Less expensive but likely won't last as long as rechargeable ones.
  • Need good supply of batteries to avoid your vibrator losing power (so frustrating!).
  • Less common batteries like cell batteries can be tricky or pricey to get hold of.
Why won't my rechargeable vibrator charge?

There can be a few issues if your rechargeable vibrator won't charge:

  • Is it old, has it been dropped onto a hard surface or into water (if it's non-waterproof)? If so, your vibe may have come to the end of its pleasure-giving life.
  • Is it the correct recharging cable and inserted/attached properly?
  • Is the cable ok? (don't wrap it arount your vibe, as this can damage it)
  • Has the vibrator been left to charge for long enough? (charging through a laptop or PC takes longer than charging via a wall plug)
  • Have you over-charged it? More that 2 hours charging can put your rechargeable vibe at risk of burning out.
  • Are you using a compatible plug? Apple plugs often won't charge your vibrator.

If your vibrator still won't charge (and still within its guarantee) contact us. It may need to be returned so we can take a look at it for you. If it's out of its guarantee, it's time to treat yourself to a new vibrator.

Do I need to use lubricant with a rechargeable vibrator?

Yes- everything becomes smoother and more sensual with lube. We recommend using a good-quality water-based lubricant with any vibrator. Lubricant reduces friction, increases glide and can make stimulation feel even better. If your vibrator is made from silicone, avoid silicone-based lubricants unless the manufacturer specifically states they're compatible.

How do I clean and care for a rechargeable vibrator?
  • Wash your rechargeable vibe before and after every use. Easiest is to usesex toy cleaner
  • Wipe or rinse off.
  • Always leave your rechargeable vibrator to air dry before storing.
  • Store in a clean, fluff-free place (vibe's storage bag or box is best)
  • Avoid 'which cable' infuriation by storing correct cable with rechargeable vibe.
  • Give your rechargeable vibrator a full charge (no more than 2 hours) at least every six months (even if you haven't used it) to keep the motor in good shape.
Can a rechargeable vibrator give me an electric shock?

No. Rechargeable vibrators are designed with sealed, low-voltage rechargeable batteries and are perfectly safe to use as directed. Never use a vibrator while it is connected to the charging cable, and always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Can I leave my rechargeable vibrator plugged in?

Vibrators should not be left plugged in and unattended. Make sure you are around and attentive when your vibe is charging. and once it's fully charged, unplug it. This helps maximise battery lifespan. Likewise, don't remove the vibrator but leave the charger plugged in.

If you haven't used your toy for several months, giving it a short recharge before use can help keep the battery in good condition.
