WHEN: DATE CHANGE: PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD
The date of SlutWalk London has changed and will now take place on the 11th June 1pm
WHERE: Trafalgar Square
WHAT: March against rape, sexual assault, and victim-blaming.
Slutwalk was inspired by the comments of a Toronto police officer, who reportedly told a group of law students : 'You know, I think we're beating around the bush here. I've been told I'm not supposed to say this. However, women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimised.'
Angered by this statement, women across the world are gathering for Slutwalk, a march to reinforce the message that rape is never OK, and to show solidarity with all survivors of rape and sexual assault. In a culture where society blames survivors more than perpetrators for rape and sexual assault, this is a vital message to get across.
The Sh! Girlz are 100% behind this - wel'll be supporting Slutwalk London, so watch this space for further details in the next few days!
