Mark Davy Jones Art Exhibition in Store throughout May

Mark Davy-Jones is at the cutting edge of sensual digital art. Mark creates unique works of art combining his traditional fine art skills with the latest techniques in photography, montage and graphic manipulation.

His artworks are based on his own photographs, often elaborately constructed and dramatic pictures in themselves, even before Mark’s keen eye develops them further into his beautiful and provocative images using digital montage and painting techniques.

Much of his more recent work has explored themes suggested by the work of widely varied great artists ranging from Rembrandt to Klimt via Botticelli.

Currently living on the Isle of Wight he often finds inspiration in the local landscape and wildlife. His aim is to create an individual artwork that is at once beautiful and thought provoking, rather than just erotic images.

Mark originally trained as an illustrator at Kingston University and later went on to develop a successful career as a graphic designer and brand consultant.

Mark’s work has been exhibited extensively and most recently in 2013 at Gallery Liverpool and The Menier Gallery in London.

Mark is a long term member of the Guild of Erotic Artists.

WE’re delighted that Mark could grace our walls this May because…

May is National Masturbation Month, and that gives us lots to celebrate!

We say it’s worth celebrating a healthy, fun way to learn about your body and have fun, so we’ll be discussing myths, mysteries, styles and techniques, and the rise of masturbation for women as a positive, healthy part of women’s sexuality.

We’ll be looking at the history of masturbation, along with the history of some of our favourite sex toys (did you know dildos date back to Ancient Greece and the humble vibrator was a Victorian medical invention?) as well as some of the common worries and fears about masturbation that we all heard at school.

We’ll be discussing different styles and positions of self-stimulation, and the revolution of the last forty years, which changed female masturbation from something Nice Girls Don’t into something good women do …and love!

And it wouldn’t be a Sh! article if we didn’t talk about some of your very favourite toys, erotica to get us in the mood and new sex toys we’ve found to grace our shelves

And we won’t forget the fellas either – we’ll be talking about sex toys for men as well as ways to enjoy masturbation toys for couples and the fantastic erotic classes, on all aspects of sexuality, we hold in our London Store.

So, watch this space- we’ve got an amazing month coming up. With luck we’ll entertain you, inform you – maybe even inspire you – on the subject of masturbation.
