The anatomy of the clitoris and ways the clitoris likes to be touched...
The clitoris sole purpose is to deliver sexual pleasure and is central to a woman's pleasure. The clitoris is highly sensitive, with 8,000 nerve endings at its tip, it's the most responsive organ in the human body, including the tongue, fingertips and the penis.
Anatomy of the Clitoris
The external part of the clitoris lies beneath the folds of skin (the clitoral hood) at the top of the inner vaginal lips. Inside, two shafts extend about 8cm inside the pelvis spanning the vaginal canal and two connecting bulbs lie either side of the vaginal opening.
When aroused, the clitoris swells with blood, becomes erect and can double in size. Touching the clitoral tip gives the most intense sensation, whilst stroking the surrounding area also stimulates the nerves that count.
When we become really turned-on, the clitoral tip retracts under its hood and may no longer be visible or even twiddlable! The clitoral tip can retreat and come back out to play several times during your steamy sessions, but during orgasm, you clitoris is always retracted.
The different parts of the clitoris can produce totally different sensations and only by really exploring and honing in on these sensations, will you discover the full pleasures your clitoris has to offer you. And only by communicating your discoveries to your lover, will they be able to share in these pleasures.
Some women, enjoy the base of their clitoris to be touched and don't enjoy stimulation of the very sensitive clitoral tip at all, finding it much too intense. For some women this part of their clitoris can actually feel more painful than pleasurable. Circular, swirling motion around the sides of the clitoral tip or a slidey motion along the outside of the the inner lips seem to have lots of fans ... but only by getting down n' experimenting will you discover where your most oh! ooh! oooh! places are.
Just as where we enjoy being touched is individual to us, so is the kind of touch we enjoy on our clitorises. Some women can only cope with the lightest of fingertip strokes, whereas others need the zingy intensity of a vibrators buzz on their clitoris to get them off. Different levels of intensity can produce different kinds of orgasms - the slow build up of featherlight touches will often result in a low shuddering orgasm whereas firmer sensations may give you a short, sharp blast of an orgasm. All kinds of touches, just like all kind of orgasms are worth pursuing.
