Vaginismus can cause painful sex: Our Training Kit can help with the treatment of vaginismus.
With the changing attitudes to womens sexual openess and more and more opportunites for women to explore their sexuality, there are increasing numbers of women coming forward to seek help for painful & difficult sex.Where women might have put up with painful sex in the past, or simply given up on sex altogether, now they are seeking help and we are seeing an increasing number of women with vaginismus - a condition when muscles in and around the vagina go into spasm, making intercourse very painful or even impossible.
Vaginismus is believed to have mainly psychological roots. Exploring what is going on in the mind AND body is the only effective way to treat vaginismus. . A visit to your doctor (who can refer you to a sex therapist or specialist counsellor) is a vital first step to overcoming vaginismus. Most important of all is to realise that having vaginismus need not mean an end to your sex life.
At Sh! we believe in making the physical “treatment” process for vaginismus as pain-free and easy as possible – it can even be fun! This is why every year we see large numbers of vaginismus sufferers who have been informally “referred” to Sh! by their doctor, therapist or nurse specialist.
If you are diagionosed with vaginismus, you may be asked to get a “dilating kit” or “trainers” by your doctor. Dilating means gradually introducing the vagina to the whole idea of penetration by inserting “trainers” (the Russian Dolls of the dildo world!) of increasing width/length over a period of time. These “trainers” can often be ugly, hard plastic, scary-looking beasts that seem far more at home under the kitchen sink than in the ladies boudoir…
The
Sh! Training Kit consists of a series of 4 size-graded vibrators which can help ease the activity of dilating into the arena of pleasure, not treatment. Remember: a vibrator is a massage tool, it helps to relax muscles, is stimulating and pleasure-giving. Introducing these sensations is likely to make vaginismus treatment - and in the long-term -penetration easier and more enjoyable.
