Overheating vibrator

Why does my vibrator feel hot??

Dear Madam
I bought a vibrator a few months ago. Over the past few weeks the battery compartment has become extremely hot and takes a long time to cool down even after I have removed the three AA batteries. I don't use the vibrator a lot but would like it put right. Also, when I flew on holiday and it was in my band-baggage, the batteries had run themselves down. They were not switched on. Perhaps you can help...

Firstly, we always advise customers never to store toys with batteries in them for any length of time, as it can reduce battery life.

Even when switched off the batteries can form a contact with the circuit which can drain the battery power and may contribute to overheating. This goes for any mechanical battery-operated appliance of course, not just sex toys.

It's possible that whilst in transit in your baggage the buttons have been depressed and caused the toy to switch on, running down the batteries. In any event it's always wise to travel with batteries stored separately from toys. (we've heard many stories of embarrassing security alerts, for one thing!)

As to the issue of your toy overheating whilst in transit, perhaps you are using the wrong type of batteries for your toy? We advise using only non-alkaline, (zinc carbon) low-power batteries, which are best suited for these toys, as their small motors are liable to overheat when used with alkaline/high powered batteries (e.g. Duracell etc).

We hope this advice is useful to you, and that you continue to enjoy your vibe with the only thing over-heating being you! ;)
Best Wishes
The Sh! Girlz,
